Qingdao also spelled Tsingtao, is a major city in the east of Shandong Province on China’s Yellow Sea coast. It is also a major nodal city of the One Belt, One Road (OBOR) Initiative that connects Asia with Europe. It has the highest GDP of any city in the province.

Administered at the sub-provincial level, Qingdao has jurisdiction over six districts and four county-level cities. As of 2014, Qingdao had a population of 9,046,200 with an urban population of 6,188,100. Lying across the Shandong Peninsula and looking out to the Yellow Sea, it borders Yantai to the northeast, Weifang to the west and Rizhao to the southwest.

Qingdao is a major seaport, naval base, and industrial centre. The world’s longest sea bridge, the Jiaozhou Bay Bridge, links the main urban area of Qingdao with Huangdao district, straddling the Jiaozhou Bay sea areas. It is also the site of the Tsingtao Brewery, the second largest brewery in China.

INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE

Qingdao University has established exchange and cooperation relationships with more than 140 overseas universities and higher learning institutions. At present, there are about 1,000 international students from more than 30 countries studying at QU and more than 60 long-term international teachers working at QU.
Up to now over 70 distinctive international programs have been established, covering the student exchange, faculty development, co-research, joint-courses projects, academic collaboration, and China study., etc. Many collaborative projects with the support of both Chinese and international government institutions have been achieved, including: the “Joint-education Degree Project of Tourism with Austria University”, the National HSK Test Centers (Chinese test for foreigners), the National Chinese Education Bases for Overseas Chinese, the cooperative partner university of Chinese National Confucius Institute overseas, the Base of the Chinese Flagship Program of the United States, the Test Center of the German National Test Daf.

The Departments of Korea, German, French and Spanish were successfully established with the foreign government support. Qingdao University has established large In-China Study programs which offer both Chinese language and culture degrees and training programs at different levels. QUPOCS (Qingdao University of Open China Study) has developed into one of the most welcoming programs (with English assistance) for foreigners with different demands

4.      Refunds for personal reasons are not available for any of the above fees while studying at Qingdao University.
